XPRIZE, the world’s leader in designing and operating incentive competitions to solve humanity’s grand challenges, sponsored by a nonprofit venture philanthropy organization. New Profit and in partnership with JFF- Jobs For the Future, announced that 10 teams from 4 countries are advancing to the Qualified Teams round of the $5M XPRIZE Rapid Reskilling competition.

Launched in June 2020, XPRIZE Rapid Reskilling incentivized teams to develop and demonstrate the effectiveness of rapid training and reskilling solutions for individuals most vulnerable to employment loss in the United States. If adopted on a nation-wide scale, the best solutions have the potential to transform the way workers train for more than 12 million jobs.

Career Path Services is proud to share our team’s “Dignity of Work” solution, a collaborative model led by Career Path Services in partnership with ANEW, and WholeStory was selected to advance into Round 2 of the competition. Teams will have approximately two months for solution development. During this time, teams will develop their novel technological solutions, create platforms, develop training curricula, and prepare for field testing with jobseekers. Our solution will reduce training time by 50% compared to existing programs, and at no cost to participants.

Cami Eakins, CEO of Career Path Services “We are extremely excited about our partnership with ANEW and WholeStory. Our Dignity of Work solution is designed to open access and opportunity to lift people out of poverty and onto a pathway of self-sufficiency in a high demand occupation.”

During the remainder of 2021, our ‘Dignity of Work’ team will engage 350 individuals (unemployed workers facing barriers, dislocated workers needing retraining, youth without previous employment experience) and prepare them for long-term careers with living wages in the construction industry. Our remotely delivered training and job placement solution will target workers and employers in collaboration with the Hampton Roads Workforce Development Board in Virginia.
