Spokane WorkSource Branch Receives Two National Emergency Grants to Serve Dislocated Workers

October 2012 – The Spokane Workforce Development Council awarded Career Path Services two National Emergency Grants to assist dislocated workers in reconnecting to the labor market.

The Workforce Investment Act NEG award of $350,000 is designated to serve 76 dislocated workers who have been unemployed for 20.42 weeks or more, including those who have been laid off since 2008.

The Community Partnership NEG award of $92,000 is designated to serve 35 laid off state and government workers affiliated with the following agencies:

  • Washington State Liquor Control Board
  • Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Department of Corrections
  • Employment Security Department
